So much blank space with no limit stated as to word count. It's an author's wet nightmare if you will, especially when the topic is myself!

To say that the words below represent me well would imply either that I think myself super eloquent or intensely boring. I try hard to be one and hardly consider myself the other though, so that leaves me with a stalwart "here goes!"

Rather than giving you the usual generic "I like to laugh'"s and "I enjoy good dinners and great conversation"s, I'll begin with a few appropriately aggrandizing self-appellations and follow-up by pointing out just a few handpicked idiosyncrasies. I am, above all else, a lover of language and words. An utter linguaphile if you will. I speak terrible French and understand/read Japanese better than I converse with it at this point. I think our ability to share thoughts and abstract concepts with eachother is something akin to magic, and love to learn new things whether mundane or profound. I think of myself as a happy medium between spaz and scholar, really. Smile2.gif

I'm obsessed with immortality through the arts and am working on a novel at current...but then again, aren't all authors? XD I'm also a staff writer for an online geek magazine, and a anime/sci-fi/fantasy reporter at local conventions. I cosplay, interview, edit video and photos, write articles of all sorts...and that's not even my day job! (My secret identity is a swim instructor...and a damn good one at that!)

I am a student of philosophy and a humanist, yet I still defer to faith driven morality. I believe a life well lived is one lived with others as your focus. I enjoy epicurean philosophy and have a bias toward ataraxia. I build my own computers. I go to church and love the feeling of spirit, love and community. I still count myself as a skeptic though, and hold that it's important to back up what you believe. I am a disciple of the school of passion and conviction, and hold that these are the keys to finding 'one's path' (if such a thing exists). I am a catharsis connoisseur and a curious, creative creature.

I also like alliterations and terrible puns.

Statistically, I'm likely not that different from a good many people on the planet, but hold as fact that I'm more charismatic than any other 'me' you could run into.

I love the word and sensation of schadenfreude, but I enjoy it most when it pertains to people who deserve it. I suppose that makes me a supporter of Kharma. (Otherwise, I swear I'm kind-hearted and empathetic).

I view success as the number of generations a person will be remembered after their death. I view a life well lived, not as one with no regrets, but as one which you wouldn't change for fear of altering the outcome.

I hate calling myself an 'aspiring author' because I know how published writers view the term. They translate it as 'lazy'. I am not that. I'm published and pretty decently recognized by nomme de plume, but have yet to get a book out. I hope to have it done by 2014.

I like people unless they're malicious or spiteful, and even then I believe that there's probably a reason. Chances are that you're an incredible, interesting, insightful person, and I count both of us lucky where the chance to chat is concerned!

Interests
Writing, multimedia production, swimming, hiking, cats, the internet, music, communications, language, ukelele, guitar, music composition, videography, anime, seiyuu, culture, philosophy, theology, science, literature, enjoying life to it's fullest!
Music
I love a large variety of music, including terrible albums like "Yu-Gi-Oh: Music to Duel By" and a Mortal Kombat soundtrack by "Raiden and the Immortals."
Currently I'm loving my old Vis-Kei standards of Gackt, Malice Mizer, and X-Japan, as well as Anggun and select French language tracks (due largely in part to me trying hard to be less terrible linguistically).

Otherwise...hmmm: David Bowie, Johnathan Coulton, Queen, NiN, Techno I think is good, Vocaloid (Rin, Ren, Miku, and Kaito in particular), Pink, Alanis Morissette, Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Nightwish, Opera (loving Lucia di Lammermoor right now), Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban, Recoil, Train...really I think it might just be easier to say that I like a lot of music.
Movies
omigawsh...where to start?
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Repo the Genetic Opera, Moonchild, Boondock Saints, ExistenZe, Se7en, Anything Jim Carry is in, Mortal Kombat, Anything directed by Kevin Smith (Dogma, Clerks, Clerks 2, Jay and Silent Bob), Thor, Avengers, (NOT the X-Men franchise), Bill and Ted, Terminator 2, Aliens, Blade Runner, Labyrinth, Most of Miyazaki's films, Fight Club, The Hobbit etc., Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising, South Park, Melancholia, Batman: Under the Red Hood, Nolan's Batman movies, Schumacher's Batman movies, Nightmare Before Christmas, Yu-Gi-Oh: Bonds Beyond Time (abridged or otherwise), Banlieu 13, Romeo+Juliet (even if I hate the play), Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, Psycho, Star Wars Original Trilogy, New Star Trek (and the even numbered old ones!), Girl Interrupted, Cannibal The Musical, Reefer Madness the Musical, bad/amazingly bad horror/sci-fi movies.
Video Games
Portal and Portal 2. I started Skyrim, but quit because I'd rather write an epic than play through a flawed attempt at one. I button mash like a pro on Soul Calibur, and adore Marvel vs. Capcom. I'm a terrible FPSer, but Nazi Zombies on CoD are great.
Rhythm games have always been my favorite and I play heavy on DDR, can be decent on Guitar Hero and Rock Band on guitar or drums, and can play a mean Para Para Paradise.
